Summary: At $200 a night, I expected much better. This hotel has potential, but our room felt old, neglected, and poorly maintained. The bathroom was particularly rough: a worn tub, dripping faucet, wobbly toilet that leaked, and a loud fan that didn’t ventilate well. There were visible gaps around the fan and light where you could see into the space above the ceiling. Touch-up paint didn’t match, and paint was splattered onto hooks and trim. It all gave the impression that repairs were done with very little care. Sleep was difficult. The walls were thin, the fans were noisy, and our room was near a back entrance with people coming and going. Our key cards also wouldn’t consistently unlock the doors. There were some positives: the staff were helpful, breakfast was good, the pool was fine, and the downtown location made walking to a restaurant convenient. The coffee was terrible, and the gym was very bare bones. We felt relatively safe, and the hotel allows pets. Ultimately, having a place to sleep doesn’t justify the price on its own—especially when it’s hard to sleep there. For $200 a night, I expected a room that felt maintained and cared for. This one didn’t.
